Welcome to Essex Only

This largely rural county is full of small traditional villages and market towns and packed full of history. Here you can find tallest Tudor gatehouse in Britain at Layer Marney Tower or perhaps visit Colchester Castle in Britain's oldest recorded town.

To keep the children entertained, Essex offers great days out at the seaside. The Essex coast is host to the Clacton air show and the Southend Pier with its numerous amusement arcades, family festivals and carnivals held throughout the summer.

For the more culturally minded, why not enjoy an open air concert or play in the countryside during the Summer months or enjoy one of the many art galleries. These often depict the work of the many artists who have been captivated by the rolling hills and woods of this beautiful country.
